Eye and Vision Exams

At Lamm David Eye Care, we provide eye care for the whole family. Dr. David and Dr. Hejny are Therapeutic Optometrists and Ocular Glaucoma Specialists, trained to diagnose and treat eye disease, infections, injuries and vision problems. Preventative and routine eye exams are important in maintaining good eye health. Often, eye and vision problems do not have obvious symptoms or signs, but are easily diagnosed by a licensed optometrist. By diagnosing eye and vision conditions early on, our optometrists are able to provide treatment options and in many cases restore or prevent vision loss. The American Optometric Association recommends yearly eye health and vision exams.

During an eye exam, Dr. Ashley Lamm David or Dr. Whitney Hejny will ask you questions about any symptoms or issues you are experiencing, medications you are currently taking, any blurry vision, your work environment, and your overall health. Family history and previous eye or vision conditions will also be discussed during this part of the examination. The doctor will consider this information when determining any treatments or recommendations.

At Lamm David Eye Care, we incorporate computerized technology to assist in the evaluation of your prescription, peripheral vision, intraocular pressure, and eye health. Examinations include tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure. We also use OptoMap technology, which is a digital image of the retina to check eye heath without drops or dilation.
